Troubleshooting "HTTP 404" Error When Registering Webhook in Salesforce App

This article explains how to troubleshoot 404 error when registering webhook in SF App

Issue: A client is attempting to install the Salesforce app into a test tenant but encounters an error when trying to register the webhook. The error is showing a "HTTP 404" response.

Symptoms:

  • The client receives a "failed HTTP 404" response when registering the webhook.

  • No additional errors are visible in the logs except for the call made at the time of the issue.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Verify the Webhook URL Configuration in the named credential.

    • The client has configured the following URL for the webhook: identity.fenergox.com/Account/Login.

    • This is an incorrect URL for webhook registration.

  2. Correct URL:

    • The correct URL for webhook registration should be: api.fenergox.com.

  3. Resolution:

    • Update the webhook URL to the correct endpoint api.fenergox.com and retry the webhook registration.

    • This should resolve the "HTTP 404" error and allow successful registration of the webhook.
