Data Protection Dashboard Showing Entity IDs Instead of LE Names

Issue Description

Users may notice that the Matches tab in the Data Protection Dashboard displays only Entity IDs rather than LE names for some entries. This behavior is seen when:

The entities were recently deleted.

The dashboard had not yet processed or cleared them before the deletion.

Audit logs for the entity profile should normally indicate when they were deleted; however, it appears that the Data Deletion feature is being actively tested, which may lead to timing inconsistencies.

Root Cause

When an entity is fully deleted:

The system removes the entity and its associated LE name.

Only the GUID reference remains in places where the entity ID is still recorded.

The system does not retroactively remove the GUID from all locations it may appear.

As a result, when the dashboard attempts to display the entity, it shows only the GUID—because the LE name no longer exists.

Why This Is Unlikely in Production

In a production environment:

Entities shown on the Data Protection Dashboard (triggering offboarding) are typically actioned first.

Only after the offboarding process and after sufficient time has passed would the entity be deleted.

By the time deletion occurs, the dashboard would already have cleared the entry.

Therefore, it is rare for the dashboard to encounter a deleted entity and display only its GUID.
