Finding Orphaned Entities in FenX Production Using the API

Overview

To find orphaned entities in FenX Production, use the following API endpoint:

The API requires a JSON payload.

Sample Payload

{

"data": {

"actionsGroup": "",

"pager": {

"paginationToken": "",

"pageSize": 10,

"sortOrder": 0

}

}

}

Note: The documentation states that actionsGroup is optional and can be empty or null.

Issue Observed

When executing the API call with an empty actionsGroup, the following error occurs:

{

"data": [

{

"propertyName": "Data.ActionsGroup",

"errorMessage": "Parameter ActionsGroup is mandatory and cannot be empty.",

"attemptedValue": "",

"errorCode": "NotEmptyValidator"

},

{

"propertyName": "Data.ActionsGroup",

"errorMessage": "Parameter ActionsGroup must be one of EntityCheckActionTab enumeration.",

"attemptedValue": "",

"errorCode": "PredicateValidator"

}

]

}

Explanation

Despite the documentation, actionsGroup is mandatory in the API.

It must match a valid value from the EntityCheckActionTab enumeration.

Resolution

Using "Matches" as the actionsGroup value resolves the issue.

Updated Request

{

"data": {

"actionsGroup": "Matches",

"pager": {

"paginationToken": "",

"pageSize": 10,

"sortOrder": 0

}

}

}

API Call

With this payload, the API executes successfully and returns the orphaned entities.

Summary

actionsGroup is required and cannot be empty, despite documentation suggesting it is optional.

Using "Matches" as the value allows the API call to succeed.
