Fenergo SaaS UI does not support deletion of unlinked documents that have been uploaded directly via the Entity Profile page
However, it is possible to delete such documents using Fenergo's Document Management Command Endpoints.
Find the Document ID
We first need to get the documentID of the document we wish to delete.
The easiest way to identify this is by checking the Network logs captured whilst loading the Entity Profile page:
Enable the Browser Dev Tools (SHIFT + CTRL + i)
Go to the Network tab of the Browser Dev Tools window and ensure the Preserve log checkbox is checked:
3. In the FenX UI in the same Tab (not Dev Tools window we just opened) go to the Entity Profile of the entity with the document you wish to delete. Or if you already in the Entity Profile, just refresh the page (F5 or CTRL + R).
4. Once the Entity Profile has fully loaded, in the Browser Dev Tools window filter the results by the following text:
documentmanagement/entity/paged
5. Select the returned result.
6. In the Response tab find the entry with the fileName that matches the document you wish to delete and copy the id:
Note:
The next steps cannot easily be undone once completed.
Please ensure the documentID is correct and is for the exact document you wish to delete.
Details such as fileName, documentType, uploadedByUserName and uploadedOn date are useful for identifying the correct document.
Execute API call to delete document
Next we need to prepare an API call to the Fenergo Document Management endpoint:
DELETE: https://api.fenergox.com/documentmanagementcommand/api/v2/documentmanagement/{id}
Please note the https://api.fenergox.com section may need to be changed depending upon your applicaiton URL (ie api.emea1b.fenergox.com; api.nar1.fenergox.com) etc.
Documentation for the API call can be found here
1. Ensure the payload includes the Document ID we captured such as in the below example:
{
"data": {
"entityId": "1e82535c-ad05-43c0-932c-bc39405cc293",
"startIndex": 0,
"pageSize": 1000,
"deduplicationEnabled": false
}
}
2. After successful execution of the API call, clear cache and reload the Entity Profile Page (CTRL + SHIFT + R). The document should now be removed.
Alternatively, use Swagger UI: Swagger UI
Update the API URL based on your environment:
EMEA1B https://api.emea1b.fenergox.com/documentmanagementcommand/swagger/index.html
NAR1 https://api.nar1.fenergox.com/documentmanagementcommand/swagger/index.html
(Use the URL that matches your environment.)
2. Find the endpoint
3. Authorize (Padlock Icon)
Click the padlock (Authorize) button.
Open Dev Tools in FenX (F12 in browser).
Go to the Network tab.
Open any request and copy the Bearer token from the Headers section.
Paste the token into Swagger and click Authorize.
⚠️ Important:
The Bearer token usually expires after 5 minutes.
If it doesn’t work, refresh FenX to generate a new token and copy it again.
4. Execute the Request
Fill in the required fields.
Click Execute.
5. Check the Response
The expected response is: 202
202 means the request was accepted by the backend.
6. Confirm in FenX
Refresh the page in FenX and verify that the document has been removed.
